The Woodlands Earth Day Cleanup set for March 31

Get your trash bags ready. Earth Day 2012 marks the second annual community-wide stewardship project for The Woodlands Township and an effort to clean up trash and beautify The Woodlands.

The "greenup," set for the morning of Saturday, March 31, aims to have residents bag trash in parks, on sidewalks and out of streams and is organized by village.

The township has the following tips for residents:

-Wear appropriate clothing, including long pants, close-toed shoes or boots.
-It’s advised to use hats, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and bring water.
-Gloves and bags provided.
-A limited number of grabbers and vests will be available per group.
-Wagons are welcome.
-Plan to spend 60 to 90 minutes at the clean-up site.

The post-pick-up party runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northshore Park with music by the Buck Yeager Band and free pizza for GreenUp volunteers.
Check-in runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m, March 31. Residents can check in at a designated park in their village:

-Cochran’s Crossing: Shadowbend Park, 4192 Lake Woodlands Drive

-College Park: Harper’s Landing Park, 2 N. Blair Bridge Drive

The Woodlands to host fine arts festival

Market Street will be become an outdoor art bonanza as The Woodlands hosts its 12th Annual Spring Fine Arts Festival from 10-7 p.m. on April 28.

Amateur and professional artists alike will display their artwork, including photography, paintings, metalworks, sculptures and pottery—all with a backdrop of live music, art demonstrations and craft activities for children.

The Easter Bunny Arrives at The Woodlands Mall March 14

Grab your baskets, the Easter Bunny is hitting the trail and he’s making his way to The Woodlands Mall to visit with boys and girls. The Easter Bunny arrives on Wednesday, March 14 and will be welcoming visitors daily in his springtime garden in Future Court across from JCPenney.
  Hours to visit the bunny are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. He does take occasional breaks during the day. The Easter Bunny will be greeting visitors and posing for photos until Saturday, April 7. Photo packages start at $18.99.
  The Woodlands Mall will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 8. Some stores, restaurants and entertainment venues at the shopping center may keep different hours. Please call for exact opening and closing times.

The YMCA Opens to the Woodlands Community for Spring Break Activities

The YMCA  is open to the community during Spring Break Week and the schedule is filled with a variety of free activities for all ages!  Load up the kids and head over to the YMCA for Spring Break Staycation.
